Date Calculator

Days between two dates, or add/subtract days, weeks, months, and years from a date.

Two tools in one: find the exact number of days, weeks, and months between two dates, or add/subtract a number of days, weeks, months, or years to a starting date.

Examples: days between dates

Examples: adding and subtracting days

  • 90 days from January 15, 2026 is Wednesday, April 15, 2026 — a common window for return policies, probation periods and visa stays.
  • 180 days from June 1, 2026 is Saturday, November 28, 2026.
  • 45 days before September 15, 2026 is Saturday, August 1, 2026 — useful for working back from a deadline.
  • 280 days (40 weeks) from January 15, 2026 is Thursday, October 22, 2026, the standard way to estimate a due date from the first day of the last period.

When people use a date calculator

  • Countdowns: days until a wedding, vacation, graduation, holiday or retirement.
  • Deadlines: 30-, 60- and 90-day notice periods, warranty and return windows, payment terms such as Net 30.
  • Legal and admin: lease lengths, contract end dates, and how long you've lived or worked somewhere.
  • Milestones: how many days old you are, or how long you've been together.

The calculator counts calendar days, including weekends and holidays. For a business-day deadline, check the result against a calendar and allow extra time for weekends and federal holidays.

Frequently asked questions

Does the difference include both the start and end date?

The day count is the number of days between the two dates — for example, January 1 to January 3 is 2 days apart, not 3.

Can I subtract time from a date, not just add it?

Yes — switch to "Add or Subtract" and choose Subtract to go backward from your starting date.

How are months and years handled when adding?

Adding a month or year moves to the same day number in the target month, adjusting automatically if that day doesn't exist (for example, adding a month to January 31 lands on the last day of February).

Does it account for leap years?

Yes. It uses real calendar dates, so February 29 is counted in leap years such as 2028. January 1 to December 31, 2028 is 365 days apart, compared with 364 in a normal year.

How do I count the days including the end date?

Add 1 to the result. January 1 to January 3 is 2 days apart, but if you count both the first and last day — as for a 3-day event or a car rental — it covers 3 days.

Does it skip weekends and holidays?

No. Every result is in calendar days. For business days, subtract the weekends and any public holidays that fall in the range.
